BBC HOUSE REEF
BBC HOUSE REEF
Directly in front of Bohol Beach Club lies the house reef. Since it has also been sanctioned as a fish sanctuary, motorized watercraft (jetskis, boats and bancas) are prohibited to enter the area. This makes it perfectly safe to snorkel around and see all the colourful schools of fish around large, lone corals. Outside the sanctuary and closer to the drop off, lies a sandy slope which allows good training for the open water course and some deep dives. Those with an advanced certification can go deeper and see a small skiff boat at the bottom and the remains of a local jeep that has become a home to soft coral and a number of anemone fish. It still remains as a great spot for beginning divers and a great place to spot elusive frog fish, scorpion fish, and larger pelagic fish. Some resident turtles and whale sharks have also been spotted in this area so keep your fingers crossed for a surprise sighting!
